Too Little Too Late

In the end, something good came from the whole drama of two months ago.

Mainly, we all got back something we lost long ago. Now the real deal is back.

...and what few players Champions Online has left are leaving it for The Real Deal in... handfuls (I can't say "in droves", since Chumps Online doesn't have enough players left even for one drove).

It is because of this that C.O's pitiful excuse for a swan song reeks of desperation.

...or rather, some bi-polar, misguided sense of desperation. What does Cryptic care, anyway? They didn't care for Champions for a whole decade, so why caring now? It should sting them that C.O is currently surpassed by The Real Deal 1000 players to 1.

Paraphrasing Frank Trollman of The Gaming Den, this story arc from Champions is "closing the barn doors after all the cows left, went to college, got their diploma, and started their own families."

Make no mistake, C.O committed suicide on August 2018, and even before The Real Deal came back from the dead they were already beyond all salvation. Not even The Foundry could save it now.
